XL David Head Michelangelo's sculpture breaks away from the traditional way of representing king David. He does not present us with the winner, the giant's head at his feet and the powerful sword in his hand, like other sculptures show. Rather, he portrays a youthfull King David as tense with a sense of the gathering of power immediately preceding the battle.
